Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce was established April 8, 1964 as the Italo-Soviet Chamber of Commerce. In 2014 it celebrated anniversary - half a century.
Its founders were the largest companies in Italy ("Fiat", "Pirelli", "Montecatini", "Olivetti") and a number of Soviet organizations (Chamber of Commerce of the USSR, Trade Representation of the USSR," Mashinoimport "," Soyuznefteexport "," Vneshtorgbank ") and etc.
In 1992, it was renamed to Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce.
Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce acts as the Secretariat of the bilateral Russian-Italian entrepreneurs Committee, under the auspices of the Russian-Italian Council on Economic, Industrial and Monetary and Financial Cooperation.
While maintaining its traditional areas of work of the Chamber (business meetings, consultation on legal and organizational issues in the markets of the two countries, visa support, the search for potential business partners, exchange of delegations of entrepreneurs, promotion of exhibition activities et al.), it focuses as well on the development of advanced forms of information support, practical assistance to small and medium-sized firms with no experience, and qualified persons in the field of foreign trade activities, as well as the development of regional relations, investment and innovation cooperation.
The Chamber works in close collaboration with the embassies and trade missions of the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Economic Development of Russia and Italy.
