The results of the III InterEcoForum

On 12 and 13 of March, 2015 in Marbella, Spain hosted the III InterEcoForum. The topic of the Forum "Sustainable agriculture. International development prospects" is very relevant today for all participating countries. Opening ceremony was held on March 12 by director of InterEcoForum Anna Solod who thanked all participants for their interest and stressed the importance of finding joint practical solutions for sustainable agriculture. President of Rossotrudnichestvo in Spain Mr. Eduard Sokolov presented greetings from the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Spain Mr. Yury Korchagin addressed to the participants. Deputy Chairman of the UN Association of Russia Mr. Alexei Borisov, constant partner and trustee of the Forum, welcomed the participants on behalf of the rector of MGIMO Mr. Anatoly Torkunov. Mayor of Marbella Maria Ángeles Muñoz Uriol expressed hope that the Forum would continue to be an important meeting place for experts and entrepreneurs and contribute to the strengthening of international economic cooperation.
Presentation of investment projects in the field of agriculture and the development of regional clusters, roundtables and discussions with representatives of 16 participating countries continued the business program of the Forum. During private negotiations, FACCSA-Prolongo, General Sponsor of the Forum, had the opportunity of private meetings with a large investment fund from Brazil.
Prominent experts in the field of agriculture in Spain: Miguel Huerta, Miguel Ángel Díaz Yubero, Francisco Requena, Eduardo Ameijide y Montenegro, Paz Hurtado talked about global agriculture and its prospects for the future, with particular emphasis on the need to export, not only to support the national production and generate revenue, but also to create a brand of their country abroad. Speakers stressed the recession that Spain is experiencing due to the Russian embargo on imports of a number of food products from Europe. Nevertheless, it was noted that Russia remains one of the main markets for Spanish exports. Russian participants from their side supported the discussion, noting that in Russia there is a huge untapped potential in terms of operation and innovation in the agricultural sector. Member of the Presidium of the Agrarian Union of Russia Vasily Zakharyashchev in its report "Investment and ecological potential of the Russian individual farming" stressed that the Russians should start using their land and human resources to transform agriculture into a progressive and economically strong sector. In addition, he invited his colleagues from different countries to dialogue and practical solutions in the development of organic agriculture.
Actual view on the development of international cooperation on the example of the Portuguese agriculture in the context of trade relations with the Russian Federation introduced Igor Zolkin, Trade Representative at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Portugal. Nikolay Everstov, Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council, spoke about the attractive investment opportunities and made a presentation of Sudan as a promising new direction for development and investments.
During the Forum met the delegation from the University of Cordoba, representing by the Department of Economics, Sociology and Agrarian Policy with representatives of Department of ecology and natural recourses studies from MGIMO University. During the meeting, participants agreed to establish a scientific and educational cooperation between universities.
Elena Viboras, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Government of Andalusia, on March 13 closed Forum with her report. She listed some data that help understand the current situation: Andalusia exports more than 378 million euros to the Eastern Europe, and these data continue to grow and strengthen the region's position as a major supplier of olive oil and table olives in the world. In addition, Spain is one of the world leaders in the export of meat products. Valentin Almansa, General Director of Health of the Agricultural Production, Ministry of Agriculture of Spain, finished with his presentation the business program of the Forum, focusing on the need to protect the health of animals as a way to improve production efficiency. All speakers have confirmed the importance of establishing joint ventures with foreign partners, particularly emphasizing their interest in developing long-term relationships with partners from the Russian Federation.

At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Organizing Committee of the Forum with the honourable members, have been decided to appoint the IV InterEcoForum "Sustainable agriculture based on modern innovative technologies" on October 15-16, 2015 in St. Petersburg.
